If you purchased or used certain Thermos Stainless King Food Jars or Thermos Sportsman Food & Beverage Bottles (“Thermos Product”), you may have been exposed to a serious safety hazard. The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) has issued a nationwide recall involving Thermos Stainless King Food Jars (Model Nos. SK3000 and SK3020) and Thermos Sportsman Food & Beverage Bottles (Model No. SK3010)
The recall was issued after reports that the product’s stopper lacks a pressure relief mechanism and can forcefully eject when opened, particularly where food or beverages have been stored for extended periods. This defect poses a significant risk of impact injuries and lacerations, including serious eye injuries. Thermos has received at least 27 reports of injuries, including instances requiring medical attention and three reports of permanent vision loss.
These defects may also result in unexpected out-of-pocket expenses, including medical costs and replacement costs. Our firm is currently investigating potential claims on behalf of consumers nationwide, including claims for product liability, design defect, failure to warn, and false advertising.
