On or around February 25, 2025, Sprouse Shrader discovered suspicious activity associated with its network. Upon detection, Sprouse Shrader immediately disconnected affected systems, notified the Federal Bureau of Investigation and local law enforcement, and engaged independent cybersecurity specialists to investigate the incident.
The investigation determined that documents containing personal information may have been copied from Sprouse Shrader’s network by an unauthorized third party during the incident. Sprouse Shrader then worked with a third-party vendor to identify and extract any personal information contained in the impacted documents. This review process was completed on December 29, 2025, at which point Sprouse Shrader identified individuals whose sensitive data may have been involved.
According to the breach report filed with the Texas Attorney General, those affected by the incident include, at least, 17,135 Texas residents. On March 10, 2026, Sprouse Shrader filed a notice with the Attorney General of Texas and has begun the process of sending notification letters to affected individuals regarding their potentially compromised information.
