On or around February 17, 2026, Plaza experienced a security incident involving unauthorized access to one employee’s computer. According to the company, threat actors gained access to its internal systems without permission.
Plaza reports that its security tools detected the activity and that steps were taken to stop the intrusion. An investigation later determined that an unauthorized party may have accessed personal information belonging to customers and employees. On February 27, 2026, known threat actor the Silent Ransom Group claimed responsibility for the breach of Plaza on its website on the dark web.
Notice letters were sent by mail to individuals whose information may have been affected and Plaza has set up a website to supplement individual notifications.
