On June 13, 2026, One Medical Seniors learned that an unauthorized person gained access to a third-party file storage system used to retain archived patient information of Iora Health, a Medicare-focused healthcare provider acquired by One Medical in 2021 and today operating as One Medical Senior Health. One Medical Seniors immediately deactivated the system, revoked all access, and launched an investigation.The investigation determined that certain patient files related to a limited number of legacy Iora Health and One Medical Seniors patients were accessed. No other One Medical patients were impacted, and the event was isolated to the third-party storage system. No One Medical or Amazon systems were affected.
On June 18, 2026, the high-profile cyber-extortion group ShinyHunters posted an entry to its website on the dark web claiming to have obtained 8.8 terabytes of data from One Medical. At publication, it is not confirmed if ShinyHunters was behind the breach disclosed by One Medical Seniors on June 17, 2026.
One Medical stated that they are notifying affected patients directly, though it is not confirmed if or when this process began.
