What Is This About?

Nutex Health Inc., a Houston, Texas-based company that owns and operates dozens of hospitals across several U.S. states, recently reported a data breach to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that potentially involved the disclosure of private and/or confidential information. What Happened?

On August 24, 2026, Nutex Health Inc. (“Nutex”) filed a Form 8-K with the SEC. According to this disclosure, Nutex recently learned of unauthorized activity involving data stored on its computer network. Nutex has engaged cybersecurity and forensic experts as part of an ongoing investigation in response to unauthorized access. Nutex has made the preliminary finding that the unauthorized actor(s) accessed and exfiltrated certain files that may contain information Nutex describes as “private and confidential.”

Nutex continues to assess whether information belonging to any or all of patients, employees, or credentialed providers was exfiltrated and/or accessed in the breach. Nutex also indicated that it intends to make all required notification to affected individuals, including impacted patients, based on its findings.

What Information Was Impacted?

Nutex has not yet finished investigating the scope of impacted information, but based on the nature of its business, the following categories of sensitive personal information and protected health information may have been compromised:

• Names;
• Date of birth;
• Health/medical information relating to treatment, diagnosis, or condition;
• Other medical information;
• Sensitive identifiers such as Social Security number;
• Government ID or ID number (e.g. driver’s license); and
• Health insurance information.
