What Happened?

Mobilelink, a major wireless retailer, became aware of a data security incident involving unauthorized access to its systems. The breach was first signaled when a cybercriminal group known as DragonForce claimed responsibility on December 2, 2025, alleging that it had extracted approximately 5.04 terabytes of data from Mobilelink’s network and threatened to release it publicly.

Following this discovery, Mobilelink initiated an investigation with the assistance of cybersecurity professionals to determine the scope and impact of the incident. The investigation confirmed that sensitive consumer data had been accessed by an unauthorized third party.

After completing its internal review and identifying affected individuals, Mobilelink formally disclosed the breach to the Attorney General of Texas and began notifying impacted individuals by mail on March 27, 2026.
