If you received a letter or email from Industrial Acceptance Corporation (“IAC”) about a data breach, your personal information may have been exposed. Our firm is investigating this incident and can help you understand your rights and potential legal options.

What Happened?

What Happened?

On February 24, 2025, IAC discovered unauthorized activity within its computer network. In response, IAC took systems offline and, through legal counsel, engaged cybersecurity specialists to assist in an investigation into the incident. According to IAC’s legal counsel, it was later determined that IAC experienced a ransomware event “claimed by the group, INC.” On March 4, 2025, IAC learned that certain files were taken from its network by an unauthorized actor.

Following the incident, IAC conducted a review of the affected files to determine what information was involved and which individuals were impacted. That review was completed on May 11, 2026, over a year after IAC determined certain files had been acquired from its network. IAC has confirmed that this incident resulted in the unauthorized access of personal information. On May 28, 2026, Industrial Acceptance Corporation filed notice of the data breach with the Maine Attorney General and began sending notification letters to affected individuals.
