If you received a letter or email from Educational Employees Credit Union (“EECU”), a California credit union, about a data breach, your sensitive personal information may have been exposed. Our firm is investigating this incident and can help you understand your rights and potential legal options.
On December 15, 2025, EECU learned that an unauthorized individual accessed an employee email account for a limited period of time. After discovering the issue, the EECU secured its email system and began an investigation with the assistance of cybersecurity professionals. The investigation determined that certain emails within the affected account may have been accessed or removed on December 15, 2025.
On May 8, 2026, the EECU completed a review of the impacted emails and determined that some of those messages contained members’ personal information. EECU reported the breach to the California Attorney General on May 29, 2026, and has started notifying affected individuals via notice letters.
