What Is This About?

According to dark web monitoring sources, Diabetes and Metabolism Specialists of San Antonio (“Diabetes and Metabolism Specialists”) may have experienced a data breach allegedly carried out by the threat group Inc Ransom. Our firm is investigating this incident and would like to speak with current and former patients of Diabetes and Metabolism Specialists.

What Happened?

On or around August 12, 2026, dark web monitoring websites including Ransomware.live detected that the cybercriminal threat group known as Inc Ransom had claimed a breach of Diabetes and Metabolism Specialists’ systems in a post made to the group’s dark web leak site. Inc Ransom claims to be in possession of 7 gigabytes of data and may have issued a ransom demand against Diabetes and Metabolism Specialists.  

As of publication, Diabetes and Metabolism Specialists has not confirmed the alleged breach’s authenticity. Details of the alleged breach, such as the full scope of potentially affected information, remain under investigation.

What Information Was Impacted?

While Diabetes and Metabolism Specialists has not confirmed the alleged breach nor its associated details, based on the nature of information maintained by healthcare practices and cyberattacks against them, the following categories of information may have been compromised:

• Names;
• Contact information;
• Demographic information;
• Information about medical treatment, diagnosis, and/or condition;
• Health insurance information; and
• Other sensitive personal information and protected health information.
