What Is This About?

If you recently received a letter or an email from Denton County MHMR Center (“DCMHMR”) informing you that your sensitive personal and protected health information was compromised in a data breach, we would like to speak with you about your rights and potential legal remedies. DCMHMR recently disclosed that it was the victim of a data breach that exposed individuals’ sensitive personal and protected health information.

What Happened?

On December 24, 2024, Denton County MHMR Center became aware of a security incident on its internal network. Upon detection, DCMHMR launched an investigation with the assistance of third-party cybersecurity experts to determine the nature and scope of the incident. The investigation determined that an unauthorized third party gained access to certain data stored on its network for a limited time between December 24, 2024, and December 25, 2024. On February 21, 2025, DCMHMR publicly disclosed the data breach and began notifying impacted individuals of this incident.

What Information Was Impacted?

Upon information and belief, the following types of sensitive personal and protected health information may have been compromised:

• Name;
• Addresses;
• Social Security numbers;
• Bank account information;
• Date of birth;
• Treating physician; and
• Diagnosis and treatment information.
