What Is This About?

According to dark web monitoring sources, Caduceus Physicians Medical Group, a Professional Medical Corporation a/k/a Caduceus Medical Group (“Caduceus”), of Orange County, California may have experienced a data breach allegedly carried out by the threat group known as Anubis. Our firm is investigating this incident and would like to speak with current and former patients of Caduceus Medical Group.

What Happened?

On or around August 28, 2026, dark web monitoring websites including Ransomware.live detected that the cybercriminal threat group known as Anubis had claimed a breach of Caduceus’ systems in a post made to the group’s dark web leak site. Anubis claims to have exfiltrated data that includes medical information about Caduceus’ patients. Anubis’ dark web post is accompanied by images that appear to show documents obtained from Caduceus.

As of publication, Caduceus has not confirmed the alleged breach’s authenticity. Details of the alleged breach, such the full scope of potentially affected information and the number of potentially affected individuals, remain under investigation.

What Information Was Impacted?

While Caduceus has not confirmed the alleged breach nor its associated details, based on allegations made by the ransom group Anubis, the following categories of information may have been compromised:

• Names;
• Contact information;
• Medical information/records;
• Health insurance information; and
• Other sensitive personal information and protected health information.
