What Happened?

Lifespan Physician Group of Massachusetts, Inc., which rebranded to Brown Health Medical Group-MA in 2024, recently disclosed a data breach that affected sensitive personal and protected health information. Brown Health Medical MA reported the breach to the Attorneys General of Massachusetts and Vermont on July 16, 2026.

Upon information and belief, Brown Health Medical MA has not yet published a sample notice of the incident or otherwise disclosed details related to, e.g., the nature, date, and duration of the breach. Based on the fact that Brown Health Medical MA has identified the number of affected individuals who are Massachusetts residents (290,357) and disclosed the breach to state authorities, the Group may have begun to send notice letters to affected individuals.

What Information Was Impacted?

According to Brown Health Medical MA’s public disclosures, the following categories of personal information and protected health information may have been compromised:

• Name;
• Social Security numbers;
• Medical records;
• Financial account information;
• Government ID including driver's licenses; and
• Credit or debit card information.
