On May 21, 2026, Barnhart began to send notice letters to impacted individuals and reported the incident to state regulators. Barnhart also posted a notice of the incident to its company website. According to Barnhart’s submission to the Maine Attorney General’s Office, approximately 22,822 individuals were affected by the incident.
