If you received a letter or email about a data breach from Averhealth Holdings, parent company of Avertest, Inc. (collectively, “Averhealth”), your sensitive personal information or protected health information may have been compromised. What Happened?

On January 20, 2026, Averhealth detected unusual activity in its email environment. Upon detection, Averhealth immediately contained the incident and began an investigation. The investigation, with the assistance of external cybersecurity professionals, determined that the unauthorized party had access to Averhealth’s network between December 19, 2025 and January 21, 2026. On May 6, 2026, Averhealth’s investigation determined that certain files containing personal and protected health information had been potentially accessed by the unauthorized actor.

Averhealth reported the breach to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation on July 7, 2026 and to the Vermont Attorney General on July 15, 2026. Averhealth has posted a public notice of data security incident on its website, and on July 2, 2026, began to send notification letters to potentially affected individuals for whom it has their last known address.

  • Date of birth;
  • Social Security number;
  • Driver's license number;
  • Digital/electronic signature;
  • Medical treatment/procedure information;
  • Clinical information;
  • Diagnosis;
  • Mental or physical condition;
  • Medical dates of service, costs;
  • Medical record number;
  • Health insurance policy-related number;
  • Medical history; and
  • Patient account number.
