What Happened?

On July 17, 2026, Secure Healthcare Information Management, LLC (“Secure Healthcare Information Management” or “SHIM”) discovered a network disruption and immediately launched an investigation with the assistance of cybersecurity experts.

The investigation determined that an unauthorized actor accessed or acquired certain personal information between July 6 and July 16, 2026. On September 18, 2026, SHIM confirmed the scope of the incident and obtained sufficient information to notify affected individuals.

SHIM provides billing and medical management services to independent physicians and medical institutions in northeastern Pennsylvania. SHIM may have possessed personal information related to patients of Medical Associates of the Lehigh Valley. MATLV itself is not alleged to have experienced this breach. On October 6, 2026, SHIM began mailing notice to potentially affected individuals.

What Information Was Impacted?

According to Secure Healthcare Information Management’s public disclosures, the following categories of information may have been compromised:

• Names;
• Social Security numbers;
• Driver’s license numbers;
• Dates of birth;
• Medical information such as treatment, condition, or diagnosis; and
• Health insurance information.
