What Is This About?

According to dark web monitoring sources, Riviera Nursing & Convalescent Home, Inc., which does business as Riviera Healthcare Center (“Riviera HC”) of Los Angeles County, may have experienced a data breach allegedly carried out by the threat group known as Interlock. Our firm is investigating this incident and would like to speak with current and former patients of Riviera HC.

What Happened?

On or around October 7, 2026, dark web monitoring websites including Ransomware.live detected that the cybercriminal threat group known as Interlock had claimed to have breached data from Riviera HC in a post made to the threat group’s dark web leak site. Interlock claims to have stolen over 54,000 files from Riviera HC. Interlock has included what appear to be images of documents taken from Riviera HC with its dark web post. Interlock has also made the allegedly breached files available for download on the dark web as of about October 7, 2026.

As of publication, Riviera HC has not confirmed the alleged breach’s authenticity. Details of the alleged breach, such the full scope of potentially affected information and the number of potentially affected individuals, remain under investigation.

What Information Was Impacted?

While Riviera Healthcare Center has not confirmed the alleged breach nor its associated details, based on the nature of ransom attacks on healthcare practices and the purported proof images shared by the Interlock group, the categories of information that may have been compromised may include:

• Names;
• Health information such as info about medical treatment, condition, or diagnosis;
• Health insurance information;
• Driver’s license or other government-issued ID;
• Social Security number;
• Contact information;
• Demographic information; and
• Other sensitive personal information and protected health information.
