What Is This About?

According to dark web monitoring sources, Insight Credit Union (“Insight”) of Central Florida, may have experienced a data breach allegedly carried out by the threat group known as Storm. Our firm is investigating this incident and would like to speak with current and former members of Insight Credit Union, or anyone else affiliated with Insight.

What Happened?

On or around September 15, 2026, dark web monitoring websites including Ransomware.live detected that the cybercriminal threat group known as Storm had claimed a breach of Insight’s systems in a post made to Storm’s dark web leak site. Storm claims to be in possession of over 300,000 files and 209 gigabytes (209 GB) of data stolen from Insight’s systems. Images that appear to show financial forms and identification documents have been shared by Storm as alleged proof of the breach.

As of publication, Insight Credit Union has not confirmed the alleged breach’s authenticity. Details of the alleged breach, such the full scope of potentially affected information and the number of potentially affected individuals, remain under investigation.

What Information Was Impacted?

While Insight Credit Union has not confirmed the alleged breach nor its associated details, based on claims made by the Storm threat group, the following categories of information may have been compromised:

• Names;
• Contact information;
• Financial account information;
• Sensitive personal identifiers such as Social Security number;
• Government-issued IDs such as passport or driver’s license; and
• Other sensitive personal information.
