According to dark web monitoring sources, New Century Ophthalmology, PC, which does business under the names NCO Eye Center, New Century Ophthalmology, and New Century Ophthalmology Group (“New Century”), of North Carolina may have experienced a data breach allegedly carried out by the threat group known as Inc Ransom. Our firm is investigating this incident and would like to speak with current and former patients of New Century.
On or around August 31, 2026, dark web monitoring websites including Ransomware.live detected that the cybercriminal threat group known as Inc Ransom had claimed a breach of New Century’s systems in a post made to the group’s dark web leak site. In the dark web post, Inc Ransom has included images that appear to show sensitive documents taken from New Century.
As of publication, New Century has not confirmed the alleged breach’s authenticity. Details of the alleged breach, such the full scope of potentially affected information and the number of potentially affected individuals, remain under investigation.
