What Is This About?

According to dark web monitoring sources, Valley Health Team, Inc. (“VHT”), a California health center with multiple locations in Fresno, Tulare, and Inyo Counties, may have experienced a data breach allegedly carried out by the threat group known as Rhysida. Our firm is investigating this incident and would like to speak with current and former patients of any of Valley Health Team’s health, dental, or optometry centers.

What Happened?

On or around August 28, 2026, dark web monitoring websites including Ransomware.live detected that the cybercriminal threat group known as Rhysida had claimed a breach of Valley Health Team’s systems in a post made to the group’s dark web leak site. Rhysida claims to have exfiltrated over three terabytes (3.28 TB) of data from VHT, allegedly including, among other things, sensitive personal and medical information of patients. In its dark web post, Rhysida included images that appear to be documents taken from VHT. As of publication, VHT has not confirmed the alleged breach’s authenticity. Details of the alleged breach, such the full scope of potentially affected information and the number of potentially affected individuals, remain under investigation.

What Information Was Impacted?

While VHT has not confirmed the alleged breach nor its associated details, based on allegations made by the ransom group Rhysida, the following categories of information may have been compromised:

• Patient and/or employee names;
• Medical information;
• Medical records;
• Social Security numbers;
• Passports or other government IDs;
• Health insurance information; and
• Other sensitive personal information and protected health information.
