According to dark web monitoring sources, Exact Sciences Corporation (“Exact Sciences,” a wholly owned subsidiary of Abbott Laboratories, Inc.) of Wisconsin may have experienced a data breach allegedly carried out by the threat group ShinyHunters. Our firm is investigating this incident and would like to speak with patients who used an Exact Sciences testing product at the direction of their healthcare provider, such as a Cologuard, Oncotype, or Cancerguard product.
On July 15, 2026, dark web monitoring websites including Ransomware.live detected that the threat actor group known as ShinyHunters had claimed a data breach of Exact Sciences in a post made to the group’s dark web extortion site. ShinyHunters, a criminal threat group behind several high-profile cyberattacks in recent years, has not at this time provided further detail to their allegations, such as the categories of information allegedly in its possession. ShinyHunters has threatened to release the Exact Sciences data allegedly in its possession with a posted deadline of July 18, 2026.
