According to dark web monitoring sources, Optimum First Mortgage may have experienced a data breach carried out by the threat group known as PEAR. Our firm is investigating this incident and would like to speak with individuals who provided their personal information to Optimum First Mortgage, when applying for a home loan or otherwise.

What Happened?

On June 19, 2026, dark web monitoring websites including Ransomware.live and Ransomlook.io detected that Optimum First Mortgage had been listed as an entry on the dark web site run by PEAR, a known threat group whose name stands for “Pure Extraction and Ransom.” In its post, PEAR claims to have obtained internal company information such as financials and human resources data as well as personal information belonging to Optimum First Mortgage’s clients. While the full scope of the alleged breach remains under investigation, PEAR claims to be in possession of 9.3 TB (terabytes) of information taken from Optimum First Mortgage.

As of publication, Optimum First Mortgage has not confirmed the alleged breach. Correspondingly, details such as the scope of the alleged breach, its duration, and methods used to gain unauthorized access remain unconfirmed and under investigation

Optimum First Mortgage has not confirmed the alleged breach. Based on claims made in the PEAR dark web post, and the nature of Optimum First Mortgage’s business, the following categories of personal information may have been compromised:
