Karl Auto announced that, beginning prior to March 27, 2026 an unauthorized third party gained access to certain computer systems used in Karl Auto’s operations. The company discovered the activity on April 4, 2026, immediately took steps to contain the threat, and began an investigation with the assistance of a third-party forensic cybersecurity firm. Karl Auto also notified the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

According to Karl Auto’s website notice, the unauthorized third party may have accessed files containing personal information belonging to current and former customers and employees of Karl Auto, and people who otherwise provided their personal information to Karl Auto in the course of business. Karl Auto disclosed the incident via notice posted to its website on or about June 4, 2026, wherein Karl Auto indicated it has begun to send individual notification of the breach.

                        • Full name;
                        • Social Security number;
                        • Driver’s license number or other government-issued identification number;
                        • Financial account information; and
