On October 21, 2025, the firm detected unusual activity within its computer network. An investigation later determined that an unknown actor gained unauthorized access to the company’s systems between September 28, 2025, and October 22, 2025, a period of approximately 24 days. During that time, certain files were potentially accessed or acquired by the unauthorized actor.
H&D confirmed the possible involvement of personal information on March 19, 2026, and reported the incident to state authorities in Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire on April 17, 2026. On the same day, H&D mailed notification of the incident to affected individuals.
