What Happened?

On April 14, 2026, known ransomware group The Gentlemen publicly claimed that it carried out a cyberattack against PsychPlus, a mental healthcare provider operating in most U.S. states. The Gentlemen group is known to exfiltrate sensitive data, encrypt systems, and threaten to publish stolen information if ransom demands are not met.

The incident was publicly reported on April 8 and April 14, 2026, through breach-monitoring sources. At this time, PsychPlus has not released detailed information about the scope of the incident, the categories of data involved, or how the attackers gained access. There is also no indication that notice letters have been sent to affected individuals.

Because PsychPlus operates a mental healthcare network and maintains its own electronic health record (EHR) system, sensitive personal and protected health information belonging to current and former patients may be involved. The full extent of the exposure remains unknown.
