If you recently received a letter or an email from MedPeds Associates of Sarasota (“MEDPEDS”) informing you that your sensitive personal or protected health information was compromised in a data breach, we would like to speak with you about your rights and potential legal remedies. MEDPEDS recently disclosed that it was the victim of a data breach that may have exposed individuals’ sensitive personal and protected health information.
On September 2, 2025, MEDPEDS discovered that an unknown individual or entity gained unauthorized access to its computer system and deployed a virus that encrypted certain data. As a result of this incident, some patient information was impacted and accessed by the unauthorized party. Upon discovering the incident, MEDPEDS worked with a third-party forensic firm to restore its systems and investigate the nature and scope of the breach. On March 16, 2026, MEDPEDS filed a notice with the Attorney General of Maine and began sending notice letters to impacted individuals.
