What Is This About?

If you recently received a letter or an email from Automobile Club of Southern California (“ACSC”), a member motor club of the American Automobile Association (“AAA”), informing you that your sensitive personal information was compromised in a data breach, we would like to speak with you about your rights and potential legal remedies. ACSC recently disclosed that it was the victim of a data breach that may have exposed individuals’ sensitive personal information.

What Happened?

What Happened?

On March 9, 2026, Automobile Club of Southern California reported a data breach stemming from a security incident involving one of its third-party vendors, DanubeNet Inc., also known as Driving School Solutions (“DSS”). DSS provides services related to driver education programs associated with AAA. According to the disclosure, the incident occurred after DSS experienced a compromise of its systems, on an unspecified date(s). As a result of this incident, certain files containing personally identifiable information belonging to individuals associated with AAA Southern California driver education services were potentially exposed to unauthorized persons. The driving school affiliated with a separate AAA-member motor club (AAA Northeast), AAA Driver Training School, Inc. (“DTS”), disclosed a breach on March 5, 2026. Upon information and belief, the DTS breach and that of ACSC’s member data may be related, as DTS disclosed that its member data was potentially compromised via its own driver school software. At the time of publication, however, DTS has not disclosed the name of this vendor. According to a filing with the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation, the incident has so far been reported to affect six Massachusetts residents.
