NASCBF recently disclosed that it was the victim of a data breach that exposed individuals’ sensitive personal information.
On August 18, 2025, the North Atlantic States Carpenters Benefit Funds (NASCBF) identified unusual activity affecting its Hamden, Connecticut office network. In response, NASCBF acted swiftly to secure its systems by resetting passwords and limiting access, while also engaging independent cybersecurity experts to investigate the incident. The investigation revealed that an unauthorized individual had accessed and/or acquired certain files stored within the affected office systems. Following this, NASCBF carried out an extensive review to assess the scope of data involved and determine which individuals may have been affected. This review concluded on January 13, 2026. On February 11, 2026, NASCBF filed a notice with the Attorney General of Maine and began issuing notice letters to those impacted, including 2,063 residents of Maine.
