What Is This About?

If you recently received a letter or an email from Beacon Mutual Insurance Company (“Beacon Mutual”) informing you that your sensitive personal and protected health information was compromised in a data breach, we would like to speak with you about your rights and potential legal remedies. What Happened?

On January 14, 2026, Beacon Mutual Insurance Company received an alert regarding suspicious activity on the company’s network. In response, the company disconnected certain systems, launched a forensic investigation with external cybersecurity experts, and restored operations by January 20. On January 25, Beacon Mutual publicly disclosed the incident after it appeared on ransomware tracking sites. The known threat group INC Ransom has claimed responsibility for the attack, in which it claims to have obtained 275 gigabytes of sensitive data from Beacon Mutual’s systems. A forensic review is ongoing to assess the scope of exposure. If personal data exposure is confirmed, Beacon Mutual will notify impacted individuals accordingly.

What Information Was Impacted?

Upon information and belief, the following types of sensitive personal and protected health information, belonging to Beacon Mutual employees and persons insured by Beacon Mutual, may have been compromised:
