What Is This About?

If you recently received a letter or an email from Mid Michigan Medical Billing Service, Inc. (“MMMBS”) informing you that your sensitive personal and protected health information was compromised in a data breach, we would like to speak with you about your rights and potential legal remedies. MMMBS recently disclosed that it was the victim of a data breach that exposed individuals’ sensitive personal and protected health information.

What Happened?

Recently, Mid Michigan Medical Billing Service, Inc. (“MMMBS”) became aware of a security incident on its IT network. Upon detection, MMMBS launched an investigation with the assistance of third-party cybersecurity experts to determine the nature and scope of the incident. The investigation determined that an unauthorized third party gained access to MMMBS’s network and obtained access to certain files on March 27, 2025. MMMBS conducted a comprehensive review of the impacted data to determine what information was compromised and identified affected individuals. On January 5, 2026, MMMBS filed a notice with the Department of Health and Human Services and began sending notice letters to impacted individuals.

What Information Was Impacted?

Upon information and belief, the following types of sensitive personal and protected health information may have been compromised:

• Name;
• Date of birth;
• Social Security number;
• Driver’s license or government-issued identification number;
• Medicare/Medicaid identification number;
• Diagnosis/treatment information;
• Medical record number/patient account number;
• Health insurance information;
• Payment card number;
• Passport number;
• Treating/referring provider name; and
• Biometric data.
